What a Thigh Lift Can Do for You

  • Has excess tissue resulting from weight loss
  • Has sagging and wrinkling on the thighs and buttocks

Your Surgery

Thigh lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis using general anesthesia for your comfort and safety.

Patients with a small to moderate amount of excess tissue may be candidates for an incision hidden in the groin crease. Larger amounts of redundant tissue may require an incision along the inner thigh. Liposuction is often used during surgery to remove residual fatty deposits and optimize your results.

Your Recovery and Beyond

Your thighs will be wrapped in compression garments to enhance your comfort and promote healing. You will be encouraged to walk around almost immediately to promote circulation and help prevent blood clots.

You can expect some degree of swelling, bruising, and discomfort, but medication should help with this. Dr. Smith or one of his team will call you the evening of your surgery, and you will return to Dr. Smith’s office the day after your surgery for follow up.

Most people find that recovery takes 1 to 2 weeks, and that they are ready to return to work in 2 to 4 weeks. As you recover, Dr. Smith and his support staff will be available at all times to answer your questions or address any problems you may have.
