Dr. Andrew Smith is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Irvine, serving patients throughout Orange County. He combines surgical skill and experience with a caring, patient-focused approach.
Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been named a “Super Doctor” by Los Angeles Magazine and Key Professional Media. He specializes in cosmetic surgery for women and men at his Irvine and Corona, California, locations.
Before opening his Orange County plastic surgery practice, Dr. Smith trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious University of California at Los Angeles, well regarded as one of the premier plastic surgery programs in the country. He trained with many well-respected plastic surgeons in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, including several members of the extreme makeover team.
While a chief resident at UCLA, Dr. Smith was involved in the much-publicized separation of the conjoined Guatemalan twins. The nearly 24-hour-long surgery resulted in a successful separation and has been a model for several subsequent separation surgeries. Media coverage of this monumental event was captured on the Today show, Good Morning America, and the front page of the New York and LA Times.
Dr. Smith is on staff as a plastic surgeon at multiple Orange County hospitals including Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, Hoag Hospital, and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. Outpatient surgeries are performed on location at his Irvine Plastic Surgery office. He is currently an active member of the breast center at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and Hoag Hospital.
